Who Provides The Best Targeted Traffic - Facebook Or Google?

The Two Giants of The Internet World: Facebook & Google Which Do You Prefer For Your Business? Where should I advertise my business? Many people told me that Facebook is the number one place. Yet, another group of people tell me-Google Is Tops! I have come to see for my self that both Facebook & Google, have good points and bad points. I know when I used Google Adwords one month, I did not know what was doing. (This was a costly mistake)!



Facebook differs from Google in several ways on how they approach providing targeted traffic to their advertisers. Facebook, since it is a social platform, serves a different kind of visitor than Google does. Facebook users are generally looking first at connecting with friends and family, and do not normally go looking for solutions to their problems from products they could buy. They are most often seeking advice from their social network on what to buy. This can be a challenge to overcome for advertisers.

Many marketing friends of mine use both and they all receive different results from their marketing. Some of my marketing friends prefer Facebook. The other half like Google Adwords. Both Facebook & Google are number one in the PPC type of advertising. PPC stands for Pay Per Click, for those new people who might be ready this article.

The bottom line is that both Facebook and Google do offer different levels and quality of targeted traffic. The choice will ultimately depend on the goals of the marketing efforts. If you are looking to sell something then Google is the place to be and not Facebook. Similarly, if you want someone to sign up on your dating site you are better off marketing to them on Facebook. This is because this individual will already be on the mood to socialize. Both Google and Facebook are great sources of targeted traffic but marketing goals and budgets are what will drive you the marketer to choose between the two.

So, deciding on how your potential customers are hunting their answers will determine if Facebook or Google will provide your best solution for targeted traffic. They both work well. They just require a different viewpoint from the advertiser. Both advertising methods utilize a pay per click method, and both have free advertising venues as well. Facebook offers the free Facebook page and Google offers the Google+ Business page. These both offer a great venue that a marketer can use to promote their products and ideas.
